“Caesar Must Die,” the Taviani brothers’ latest work, won them the Golden Bear at last year’s Berlin International Film Festival. Amazingly, the actors, in this staging of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar”, are actual inmates at Rome’s maximum-security prison Rebibbia. Some of them have committed multiple crimes. The film follows their lives from the day that they’re told they will stage a production of “Julius Caesar,” moves through the weeks of rehearsals, and then reaches an impressive climax at a public performance.
