Matteo, a Sicilian widower has five children that live on the mainland and never come to visit. He decides to surprise each with a visit and finds none living as he imagined. The film takes us across contemporary Italy, as Matteo journeys to Napoli, Roma, Firenze, Milano, and Turino.
