Pablo Neruda, the famous Chilean poet, is exiled to a small Sicilian Italian island for political reasons. A poor local, is hired to hand-deliver the celebrity’s mail to him. Though poorly educated, the postman befriends Neruda and learns to love poetry. Struggling to express himself, when he falls in love with the beautiful Beatrice, he turns to Neruda for help.
