Their individual aspirations set aside, Giovanna and Filippo have become bored with their lots in life, and Giovanna is intrigued with the man she sees in the apartment opposite hers. While out for a walk, Giovanna and Filippo encounter, and decide to help, a confused, old man, wandering about. Though he is well-dressed and educated, he can’t remember his name or much about his past.
